fake wiccans

Since I don't feel like using both pronouns, I'm just going to use 'you'. If this offends you, then maybe you were the person I was aiming it at.

You dabble in the Tarot, cast astrology charts and reads runes to tell your friends everything they want to know about their futures. Sometimes you do a love spell so you can snag (insert name here), or put a hex on your enemies. You makes a point to say 'Goddess Bless' to every Christian you meet, just to piss them off. What are you? Not a Wiccan.

A real Wiccan would know that Tarot, astrology and runes will not 'tell your future'. They do not reveal events that are set in stone, but instead show a mere possibility of what things could be like. A real Wiccan does not try to make another person 'love' them through the use of magic. It's dishonest, manipulative, and won't cause anything even close to the genuine emotion of love. A real Wiccan NEVER puts evil spells on ANYONE. A real Wiccan, true to the Lord and Lady, would know that all benevolent worship, whether it be Christian, Buddhist, Islamic, Pagan or whatever else, goes to the same power. A true Wiccan would know that it is pointless to try to change the beliefs of others, especially if it is quite clear that they will not listen. A true follower of the Spirit would not flaunt their faith like some sort of fashion statement.

If I have in any way insulted anyone, I'm sorry. However, I am tired of seeing people use this religion as some sort of public expression of how 'alternative' or 'anti-prep' they are. To use a faith solely in order to create an image for oneself is sad, lame, and a grave insult to the people in the world that are true believers.

If you want to be edgy, dye your hair or dress differently. Stop defacing this religion.
