religious babblings

Venefic di Lune: Hey.
Sullen Smile: Hola.
Venefic di Lune: Hehe, just had a thought: When you finally get wolf form, I can just call you puppy all the time =P
Sullen Smile: Can you do me a favor and show me where those spelling errors on my site are?
Sullen Smile: Hehe, yep. Level 24.
Venefic di Lune: Yeah, I have them written down somewhere. Hold on. Serious talk with Donald.
Sullen Smile: Okay. 'Bout what?
Venefic di Lune: Just me and my unequalled ability to make a fool of myself while trying to convey my opinions to him all the time.
Venefic di Lune: Hehe, here's a really petty one:
Venefic di Lune: getting repeatedly hit on by people who are to stupid to realize that I'm not interested
Sullen Smile: Aha, thank ye.
Venefic di Lune: I'm still checking for more...
Sullen Smile: One thing about the very first page that bothers me is on this version of netscape, the "d so" shows as bright aqua, and breaks the color fade. Damn stupid browser.
Venefic di Lune: Going to check the actual site to make sure you didn't already correct some of the ones I wrote down.
Sullen Smile: I might have. I spelled the server name wrong on the character name descriptions and I fixed that.
Venefic di Lune: Wow, you must have done some work. I can't find any now ¬_¬
Sullen Smile: Mwahaha! Hey, nice face.
Sullen Smile: How do you make that one?
Venefic di Lune: British keyboard configuration.
Venefic di Lune: =P
Sullen Smile: I should have guessed. =P
Venefic di Lune: I don't even know what those symbols are, to be honest. I didn't even know I was in British.
Venefic di Lune: !"£$%^&*()_+¬~}{-*/@:?><~
Sullen Smile: Hehe, weird stuff.
Venefic di Lune: That's all of 'em. The alternate keys, anyway.
Sullen Smile: If you think of any way I can simplify things on my page, just tell me.
Venefic di Lune: Alright.
Venefic di Lune: I'm not finding any errors, damnit >_<
Sullen Smile: Look harder, young Jedi.
Venefic di Lune: Sky King - Tip o' my tiara to the butch senshi Haruka aka Sailor Uranus.-- Maybe should have an apostrophe after Haruka and before aka. It would make it easier for me to read, for some reason.
Sullen Smile: I think I'll just make it capital. As in A.K.A.
Venefic di Lune: Sullen Smile - My AIM name. I thought it up offhand because I had to chose a screen name right at that moment.-- Choose.
Sullen Smile: Aha, thanks.
Venefic di Lune: =)
Venefic di Lune: Weird how similar my religious beliefs are to Wicca =( I'm not sure how to feel about that. It's been bothering me since I read this article.
Venefic di Lune: I always thought my religious beliefs were all me, original.
Sullen Smile: Which article?
Sullen Smile: Manson?
Sullen Smile: Or mine?
Venefic di Lune: Yours.
Sullen Smile: Alright, wasn't sure. I'm a bit out there today.
Venefic di Lune: It's all true, but it just reminds me how similar mine are to Wicca.
Venefic di Lune: I just don't have any prime deities like Wicca does.
Venefic di Lune: Nor do I worship anyone.
Sullen Smile: Well, alot of Wiccans chose the name for their Lord and Lady. They chose an aspect of the deity to focus on.
Sullen Smile: Sometimes it's an Egyption or Greek/Roman god.
Sullen Smile: Or Celtic, etc.
Venefic di Lune: Why do they rely on dead religions, though? Ah, nm. I guess I am more original than I thought.
Sullen Smile: Dead religions?
Venefic di Lune: Don't get me started. You know how I feel about all major religions, past and present =(
Sullen Smile: All religions are dead...they're just structures for worship.
Venefic di Lune: Exactly. It feels like a lie to worship something that people, nm again.
Venefic di Lune: I don't feel like talking about it.
Sullen Smile: I understand what you're saying. You just miss the point, methinks.
Sullen Smile: The point of relgion and spirituality for me is to focus on the highest part of myself...so if I were to read about a deity that reminded me of that part of myself, I would identify with it.
Venefic di Lune: I don't miss the point, I just think differently. If you worship god (whatever it is) in any way that makes it look more tangible, then people will follow your lead and create a religion like Christianity.
Venefic di Lune: We don't need any more widespread religions. It should be personal.
Venefic di Lune: But that's just how I feel.
Sullen Smile: I think alot of people don't even worship a god anymore. They worship a social and societal myth, or the religion itself. So in that way, I see what you are saying.
Venefic di Lune: Aye, I'm glad.
Venefic di Lune: And joining a religion of 5 million believers isn't going to do anything for you, either. Spiritual fufillment will come to you alone.
Sullen Smile: I'm just saying that often Wiccans take that dead god and make it a part of themselves. Because they project their spirituality into it, it becomes meaningful to them. Religion works from the ground up, not from heaven down, methinks.
Sullen Smile: Yeah. Prefabricated religion won't work for souls of so many types.
Venefic di Lune: Heaven down? Ground up? It's all the same to me. God is everywhere, and I hate the way that sounds but it's true.
Sullen Smile: That's what I'm saying too.
Venefic di Lune: K, just wanted to make sure. My thoughts are very fuzzy right now.
Sullen Smile: God isn't in the clouds...S/He is not far away. But people think that.
Sullen Smile: And that's why religion fails for so many. They are taught to believe in the religion instead of the Spirit.
Venefic di Lune: Yeah. It makes me wonder just how many people have their spirits so distant from god that they can't feel he/she/it from any place. They use the sky as a reason for their inability to feel.
Sullen Smile: That's one thing I do like about Wicca. They see the elements and seasons as proof of divine power. It's much easier to feel close to a deity that way.
Venefic di Lune: True. I can see how that works. I just think it's sad that so many people think of Wicca as some degenerate cult.
Venefic di Lune: But praising Ishtar will do that...
Sullen Smile: Me too. I know it's partly because of the pentacle, which looks so much like a pentegram. What's ironic is that the pentacle used to be used to symbolize the 5 wounds of Christ.
Sullen Smile: Yeah...
Venefic di Lune: I guess it's just not easy for everyone to keep things secret, like it is for me. Or maybe they just never feel the need.
Sullen Smile: I'm not sure what you're referring to.
Venefic di Lune: God is always there, if I want to reach out to it. I don't need to broadcast that to the masses.
Venefic di Lune: It feels rude to.
Venefic di Lune: To broadcast, I mean.
Sullen Smile: Aye, and vulgar. Like a capitalization on something that cannot be sold.
Venefic di Lune: Yeah >_<
Venefic di Lune: I guess people could say I'm egocentric when I say things like that, but I don't need to prove anything to anyone as far as religion is concerned. I think I'm proving something just by being here.
Venefic di Lune: And not to them, but to myself.
Sullen Smile: Yeah, I understand that. I'm the same way about most aspects of my life. The only thing I do try to actively prove to other people is that I am a good person, or at least one that has some honor.
Venefic di Lune: And you are. You don't need to prove that you're good to me. Who else got so upset about Faces of Death, and cries about animals that get ran over?
Venefic di Lune: Most people just blow it off as nothing, or ignore it altogether.
Sullen Smile: I think that has more to do with the fact that I am not desensitized to that stuff.
Sullen Smile: Alot of people have become able to ignore it, but it's because they're too ignorant/scared/unable to comprehend.
Venefic di Lune: True, but it says something. To be honest, I wouldn't know how to react to those kind of situations, and so I would just stay silent. Once I get alone is when I do my silent grieving.
Sullen Smile: What angers me overall is how egocentric people are...how they can make fun of other people dying and yet get so upset about the smallest flaws in their lives.
Venefic di Lune: Yeah >_<
Venefic di Lune: And so you wonder if they're just lost and misguided, or plain evil.
Sullen Smile: In my opinion, that's one fucked up point of view. Someone who has lost that much perspective needs to be helped or put down for good. I am honestly worried that some of the guys in my graduating class will become rapists or worse.
Venefic di Lune: It's likely that they already are, sadly enough.
Sullen Smile: I think it's a combo of what they've been taught and seen, and their own lack of concern. That's another thing that is learned. If you are taught not to give a damn about anyone else's pain, there's really no obvious reason why you should (in their eyes).
Venefic di Lune: True. And so a lot of the blame should be placed on parents, but people think that's too cruel.
Venefic di Lune: When, in fact, everyone a child is around is to blame for their personality as an adult. Imo, anyway.
Sullen Smile: And since they're encouraged to go along with the crowd, they never think things through. I think parents are part of it. We get alot of our morals from parents. However, we chose our own actions.
Venefic di Lune: That's friends, teachers, syblings, and the parents.
Venefic di Lune: True.
Sullen Smile: Yep, a combination of influences in the person's life.
Sullen Smile: Kinda like the boy who became obsessed with a Manson song and later committed suicide. It was tragic, but a song would not drive him to that. There had to be other problems in his life.
Venefic di Lune: And the worst part is that there's nothing you can do, other than try to raise your own child right and hope they always think highly of what you think.
Venefic di Lune: Yup.
Sullen Smile: Yep.
Venefic di Lune: It's easy for me to just say that "Hey, you'll be dead eventually, and it won't be a problem for you anymore.", but that's a sick thing to think, as true as it is.
Venefic di Lune: I mean, yeah, you will die and nothing on earth may ever trouble you again, but it's not fair to others that you did nothing while alive.
Venefic di Lune: Nothing to change things, rather.
Sullen Smile: Yep. To sit around and not think is just like being dead already. And I think we were given life in order to make something of it.
Venefic di Lune: True. For ourselves and others, if we can manage.
Sullen Smile: Not necessarily society's view of it either. Aye, true. Even self-improvement is something significant.
Venefic di Lune: Even helping one person is better than nothing, and good people have a way of inspiring others to be good people. Which ties into what we were talking about before.
Sullen Smile: Yep.
Venefic di Lune: And as suicidal as I am, I'm still waiting for that moment when I can feel like I've accimplished enough to die.
Venefic di Lune: Accomplished, rather.
Venefic di Lune: I guess that's why it's not over yet for me...
Sullen Smile: If you do feel that bad, it is more reason to stick around...the longer you are alive, the more you can do.
Venefic di Lune: I think so, too =)
Venefic di Lune: Maybe this is the reason why I've lived so many damned lives. Maybe my spirit cares too much.
Sullen Smile: Speaking of which, here's a related subject change. Do you know the words to the John Lennon song 'Imagine'? That's along the lines of what we're speaking of.
Venefic di Lune: Nope. Never really heard it.
Sullen Smile: K, I'm looking it up for you.
Venefic di Lune: K.
Venefic di Lune: For some reason this feels like a conversation to save and print for future reference. I'm not entirely sure why. Sullen Smile: http://www.bagism.com/lyrics/imagine-soundtrack-lyrics.html#Imagine
Sullen Smile: Yeah, sounds like a good idea. Can you do so? Or save it into a document?
Venefic di Lune: Yeah. I'll print it and keep it in my chest thing in my closet when we're done.
Sullen Smile: K. Can you email it to me later? I might put a piece of it on my site.
Venefic di Lune: Alright.
Venefic di Lune: I can definitely do that.
